Welcome to Drunken Rantings...
...it may be crap, but at least it's genuine crap!If only we could vote for someone who wasn't a career politican. Someone who actually once had a job, and was quite good at it. If only someone would speak plain English, propose some policies which were properly clever - and worked... I'm no Tory, and Labour are awful. The Lib Dems are, well, basically gay, and UKIP don't seem to be a real party... I'd start my own, but I'd be an terrible politician... I'm not a bad systems-analyst though, and I have a vision, a plan. I know where I'd like the UK to be and I know how to get it there too. I want to make a difference, but all I can really do is design systems, and build websites... So here it is - my website explaining how I'd set up all the UK to be more efficient... I'm just working on a Manifesto. My ego knows no bounds...
Fed-up with smooth-talking politicians with no policies?DR's about as politically correct as an uzi in a schoolroom... but it's packed with constructive ideas for damn good policies that'd make the UK great again...
Politicians, if you're reading this, sort yourselves out! You all talk about 'making the tough decisions' but the only time you do is over tax or war... Working hard at making yourself look good is *not* the same as running the bloody country! It seems to be that everything the UK government turns its attention to - turns to shit... Which would be great if their job was to make us all laugh... There's not a single 'policy' listed in the Labour Party's 1997 manifesto that they have fulfilled. Not one. In TEN years! In fact - everything they mentioned has got worse - with the possible exception of conditions for doctors who now earn far too much and do too little... A bit like politicians then. Remember 'Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime'. What a steaming heap... Feel free to join in and have a rant: Once registered, you can add your own pages and post comments... Recent Rants...
Cutting-edge environmental policies from the UKIP policy group...Sorry I haven't been posting - I have a life... I got into a discussion with the UKIP policy group again... I do wonder how they will avoid extinction Not only do they want to promote nuclear & coal power to the exclusion of all renewables, they also think that global warming is a myth used purely for political leverage... It could be, but it may not be - and that's hardly a policy that going to buy them a whole mountain of votes... 22 Jan 2008
A Solution To Rising Sea LevelsThis thought was inspired by an article in the New Scientist about the 10-year (and counting) drought in Australia - which is now perhaps not a drought, but the new climate... If we are facing rising sea-levels due to global warming melting polar ice - then perhaps we need somewhere else to put that water... Hey - don't we have things called 'deserts'... Hey - if those deserts had water - couldn't we grow food there?... 7 July 2007
The Coronation of King BrownThe Blair years are over... I just don't feel as happy as I think I should... Do you get that feeling too? A clunking great big, fat, black, scottish cloud seems to be hanging over me - and I think it's called Gordon (I have now mastered this `smile` as you call it) Brown... Let the ranting commence! 28 June 2007
The Modernisation Of The Conservative PartyI felt moved to write to David Cameron - after the Grammar Schools debacle - which basically stemmed from him forgetting that the Conservatives stood for personal choice, and also for honesty. The facts are grammar schools benefit everyone, and if he's going to just pander to the lefty teachers who have already fucked up the education of millions by sticking his head in the sand pretending they don't - then he is not a man of principle... He's really pushing his luck at the moment, but all he really needs to do is remember what the Tories traditionally stood for - and take those principles on as his own... That's what my letter urges him to do. He'll probably ignore it... 26 June 2007 Yup, I got a 'thankyou' email. He ignored it... All this crap Cameron's going on about `People Power` - It's apparently just bullshit. UPDATED: 28 June 2007
UKIP: Nuclear Power PolicyI joined the UKIP Policy Working Group on the environment, and I received a letter and 'report' from Stephen Bush - Co-Chairman ... They guy basically says 'renewables are not up to the job, and we need 80% of our electricity to come from nuclear - like the french'. Which is a crock of shit. So I replied... 7 June 2007
Family BreakdownThe family is officially dead. Perhaps the gay priests can help?.. I have been obliged to rant about this issue in a number of ways because I'm a single parent, and I'm a Dad. Go figure!

Road PricingQuite possibly the most stupid and intrusive idea ever devised by the evil hordes...

Poverty and Old PeopleDefining 'poverty' in the UK... Can you afford your own house? - No? - Then you are a pauper - destined to line the pockets of others with your hard-earned yet pitiful wage. Old people - why do they smell like that and what use are they anyway? 18 February 2007
Calling for a Cost-Benefit Analysis on EU MembershipFor 30 years people have been asking for a cost-benefit analysis of the UK's membership of the EU. The government line has always been that the benefits are 'obvious', but everyone knows that's bollocks... This is an email I sent to my local MP - Jonathan Djangogly (Con. Huntingdon) 18 January 2007

This is a much fairer way of judging a politician's worth - (as opposed to them deciding themselves)
This way - they actually have a real incentive to increase the wealth of the general population.

We should take back the fishing rights we gave away in the early 70s when we joined the 'common market' - and regain ownership of our own waters.
We could then manage the fish stocks sustainably (ie provide no-fishing areas which would act as safe spawning grounds)
